The Bachelor of Applied Technology Geographic Information Systems provides individuals the knowledge to analyze GIS data, manage GIS projects, develop GIS custom systems and train new GIS users. This program is offered in a fast-paced learning environment where base technologies, software skill sets, data related issues and industry demands are in a constant state of flux. Students taking this program are expected to be self-motivated and disciplined with sound computer skills. Although a background in geography is not a requirement an appreciation for geography is an asset.
